Greek Yogurt!!

I was worried that being lactose intolerant, I couldn't have my Greek yogurt anymore. However, according to this website and others I have looked at, Greek yogurt contains half of the lactose that regular yogurt contains, making it safer for me to eat. This also explains why when I usually eat Greek yogurt, it doesn't hurt my stomach. Lactose intolerant people can sometimes handle small doses of lactose.

Total Twist

I had some testing done at the doctors and I have been diagnosed with IBS, which is irritable bowel syndrome. Due to my clearly irritable stomach, I decided to go gluten and dairy free. I've had such a rough time with it lately because an adjustment so big is hard!

Revived From the Dead

I'm alive. After Spring Break I was hospitalized for a GI bleed. Everything ended up being okay but now I am on a special diet. No gluten or lactose for me. This could be good but a hard adjustment. Stay tuned for many food posts.

Peanut Butter

So lately at work, instead of giving into the Scotcheroo bars that make my mouth water, I've been taking eating a spoonful of peanut butter. That's better, right? Well I'm wrong. I've always been skeptic of peanut butter because I know it's high in sugar and fats. Well my gut feeling is right according to the blog post from a nutritionist. Luckily, she lists some alternatives. I love almond milk so I'm sure the almond butter would be delicious, but boy is this stuff more expensive. I trust this woman's blog because she is a certified nutritionist.

Greek Yogurt vs. Regular Yogurt

I like Greek yogurt more than regular yogurt because of the the texture. It's thick and creamy which appeals to me. I have been pushing my mom a lot to start buying Greek yogurt but she is so hesitate because of the price. Is it worth the price? Watch Dr. Oz.

Green Tea

After getting laryngitis I had to cut off coffee. It was too harsh on my throat so I switched to green tea. I would put I raw sugar and honey in it it to soothe my throat. It did make me feel better! And after reading numerous articles on green tea, I'm hooked. It's super good for you and makes me feel refreshed. Instead of drinking coffee which leaves me dehydrated, I drink one cup of green tea and then water for the remainder of the day.
